Brazilian government postpones national energy tender

Brazil has decided to put back a national tendering process aimed at the energy sector for one month.

The A-3 national tender was originally scheduled for 25th October but is now set for 18th November, according to the official gazette.

The auction will see all types of energy sources, including wind, solar, hydro and thermal, competing for 20-year power-purchase agreements (PPAs) with an initial delivery date set for 1 January 2016.

The postponement means that developers will face a even tighter schedule to get successful projects online.
