The Brazilian government aims to raise about $4.36bn at an auction in which it will offer concessions to operate 29 hydroelectric plants already in operation, according to media reports.
The local authorities have said the auction will take place from 6 to 25 November, according to a statement from the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
“With the new date companies interested in participating in the bid gain another three weeks to dedicate to the formation of consortia and build better solutions for funding to pay for concessions”, the Ministry said in the note.
