Bolivia aims to export electric power from geothermal sources from 2019 on. The Campo Sol de Mañana geothermal power station (pictured), located in the Potosi department, can make that goal possible.

The Andean nation is becoming an important energy producer thank to its abundant natural resources. On a recent visit to the geothermal devices, Bolivian president Evo Morales said that the country has “more than enough” energy because it has “few inhabitants”. He added that power exports will provide “new incomes to the country”, local newspaper La Razón reported.

The geothermal plant is located in a region that features a large number of geysers.
