The Peruvian company Palmas Group has set up a biogas power plant fueled by wastewater production of processed oils, with a capacity of 1900 kW.
The plant has an estimated cost of $2.9 million and two years of construction investment.
The company has said that “this project is in line with the Kyoto Protocol, which leads us to be able to issue carbon credits”.
The Palmas Group is an agribusiness with investments in the cultivation of oil palm and cocoa.
To obtain the biogas, the waste water is cleaned in a treatment plant with micro-organisms.
