Biogas to power BMW’s South Africa facility

BMW South Africa’s Rosslyn, Pretoria facility is to be powered by biogas, after a power purchasing agreement was signed this week with Bio2Watt.

The project is set to be ready for operation by Q1 2015 and will see power coming from Bio2Watt’s 4.4 MW Bronkhorstspruit Biogas Plant, located on the premises of one of South Africa’s largest feedlots, Beefcor.

We expect to make further strides in the area of sustainability with the introduction of our renewable power supply next year through the Bio2Watt project.”
