Verbund, the Austrian energy company, has signed a deal with Cemex, that will enable the company’s 430 MW Reissek 2 hydroelectric power plant to get off the ground.
The cement firm will provide the construction materials and perform 24-hour shift operations aimed at bringing the $500m project to fruition.
The plant is located in the Carinthian Mountains in a mountain cavern, which is 1,600 meters above the sea level.
