Atlas Copco wins geothermal order in Turkey

Swedish company Atlas Copco‘s Gas and Process division has won an order to deliver equipment to a 45 MW geothermal power plant in Turkey’s Aydin province.

The order from Celikler Jeotermal Elektrik Uretim A.S of Turkey includes two turbo expander generator trains which will be able to deliver a combined 45 MW of clean energy when the plant goes online from the last quarter of 2012.

Atlas Copco’s consortium partners are process-design expert Exergy and air-cooled condenser specialist SPIG. Atlas Copco’s share of the order value is €12m ($17m), booked in the third quarter.

The plant, using Organic Rankine Cycle technology, will be built in the geothermal field at Pamukoren, a high potential growth region for geothermal energy.
