Marine Scotland has received applications from EDP Renewables (BMAD: REP) and Repsol to construct three wind farms in the Moray Firth in Scotland.
The wind farm zone totals up to 1.5 GW and construction start is tentatively scheduled for 2016. A total of five grid connection offers are in hand starting in late 2016 and running through 2020.
Figures filed with RenewableUK peg the initial projects at 380 MW each.
Marine Scotland is expected to take nine months to review the applications before handing a recommendation to Scottish ministers, who will then determine consent under Section 36 legislation.
Official notices of the applications are due to be published tomorrow, reports Re-News.
