ABB is set to present a portfolio of power technologies at the Cigré conference being held in Paris next week.
The firm will exhibit products and solutions that highlight its contribution to the efficiency, reliability, sustainability and intelligence of power networks.
The latest developments in alternating current and direct current technologies for the integration of renewable energy sources, such as offshore wind and solar and solutions for remote power networks and micro-grids, will also be displayed at the four-day event.
ABB will feature high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems that are used for the long-distance transfer of electricity from hydropower plants.
Also on display will be ABB’s subsea transformer, high-efficiency dry-type and environmentally friendly transformers, gas insulated switchgear products, Volt/Var efficiency solutions, and a fibre-optic current sensor solution integrated with the disconnecting circuit breaker.
ABB will schedule a presentation on the commissioning of commercial installation of IEC 61850-9-2 process bus technology, and feature the latest energy storage offerings in the exhibition.
The company said it also has plans to provide an update on its efforts to develop more eco-efficient products and solutions, addressing environmental concerns such as SF6 gas management.
