A new 31 MW solar power plant is to be built at Chiba, Tokyo by JGC Corporation.

It’s the second such plant to be built by the company and is set to cost in the region of $102m.

Construction will start in March and operations are scheduled to commence in January 2015, the Japanese company said in a statement yesterday.

The company signed an agreement for project financing on Sept. 27 with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., Chiba Bank Ltd. (8331) and Joyo Bank Ltd., it said in the statement.
