Turkey close to nuclear tender decision

Turkey’s energy minister, Taner Yildiz has confirmed that the country will select the winning tender for a second nuclear power plant at Sinop on the Black Sea later this month.

The Turkish government is in negotiations with China, Japan, South Korea and Canada to build the nuclear reactor.

Last month, Yildiz said that “Far Eastern countries are closer to winning the bid,” a signal that Canada was no longer in the running.
