Arcadis wins Dounreay nuclear decommissioning role

Design and consultancy firm Arcadis has been appointed by Dounreay Site Restoration Limited to support its nuclear decommissioning programme.à‚ 

The Dounreay site in Caithness, Scotland, is the UK’s former centre of fast reactor nuclear research and develoDounreay nuclear site in Scotlandpment.à‚ 

Arcadis will provide safety case services in support of one of the fuel cycle area nuclear facilities which provides analytical chemistry support across the site.à‚ 

The facility has undergone significant decommissioning activities and will be required to carry on operations to support site-wide decommissioning.à‚  As a result, changes to the facility’s safety case are required.à‚ 

Dounreay Site Restoration has a regulatory obligation to carry out periodic reviews of its safety cases and to keep them up to date.à‚  Arcadis will lead the review and update of the facility safety case for one of the fuel cycle area nuclear facilities.à‚
