Amec Foster Wheeler has won a 10-year, multi-million contract to supply radioactive waste analysis to the Sellafield nuclear site in England.

UK-headquartered Amec Foster Wheeler will perform laboratory-based analysis to characterise waste from the site’s extensive decommissioning programme and determine the radioactive and chemical make-up, which will then allow disposal of the waste via the safest and most cost-effective means.

The company said it will be investing in new equipment and laboratory infrastructure to deliver the contract.
