Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a $34m contract to Siemens to build a high-voltage substation at Mushrif.
The contract covers 132kV switchgear, power transformer, shunt reactors, and a full monitoring system for the 132/33kV substation.
MEED reports that the substation will replace existing transmission and distribution infrastructure owned by Dewa.
The project, which will be completed over 18 months, also includes a 132/33 kV 75 MVA power transformer, four shunt reactors, complete balance of plant equipment, civil design and construction works.
