Subject to final contract negotiations, the UK’s Rolls-Royce would be the main supplier and provide the protection automation while French firm Schneider Electric would be the operational I&C systems supplier.
The deal includes both the design and delivery of automation systems.
The plant’s automation system will monitor, control and protect the operation of the reactor, systems and equipment. The protection automation detects abnormalities in the functioning of the reactor and systems and initiates necessary protective measures.
The Pyhäjoki plant is scheduled to be completed in 2024 and currently preparatory work for its construction is ongoing.
