Japan is set to announce a plant to remove nuclear energy from the country’s energy mix by the 2030’s, according to the Japanese press.

Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s administration is to make the declaration, reports the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper, citing unnamed government sources, according to AFP.

The government “will formally decide at an energy and environment meeting this weekend” to stop the use of nuclear, the paper said.
