US Air Force plans 14.5 MW solar array in Arizona

35 per cent of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, US are set to be powered by solar photovoltaic technology.

The US Air Force plans a 14.5 MW solar array at the base after reaching agreement with developer SunEdison.

The construction of the array is expected to be complete in December 2012 and is expected to save the base $500,000 a year in utility costs.
