London to host event on embedded generators

UK-based Combined Heat and Power Association members are invited to attend a free event in London next month focusing on some of the current opportunities, risks and hazards for embedded generators.

The purpose of the event, entitled Embedded generators: Opportunities, risks and hazards is to educate members to better understand how some key recent proposals will affect embedded generators: the policy proposals, their likely impact on market participants, and how generators’ value will be affected.

This afternoon event will include a strategic overview on the role for embedded generators in the future electricity system by the Energy Technologies Institute and the effect of National Grid proposals to substantially reduce embedded benefits.

There will also be views from both the Department for Energy and Climate Change as well as a small supplier on the opportunities and risks for embedded generators in the Capacity Market, followed by a panel discussion and questions, chaired by Pinsent Masons.

CHPAà‚ members can register for a place at the event, which takes place between 2 and 6pm at the Pinsent Masons LLP, 30 Crown Place, London by e-mailing
