High-performance `next generation` burner from HCE

A new `next generation` industrial process burner `The Electrotec` has been launched by Hamworthy Combustion Engineering (HCE), bringing to market a highly-reliable, low maintenance unit which, HCE claims, offers high-performance and cost effective combustion.

Key to the low maintenance design is an electric oil metering system which offers significant performance enhance- ments over traditional mechanical systems.

Developed from HCE`s proven AW2 rotary cup burner range, Electrotec virtually eliminates the use of `wetted parts`, significantly reducing through-life costs.

Supplied with electronic air/fuel ratio control to provide greater combustion performance and eliminate hysteresis. This makes it less susceptible to mechanical wear – hugely beneficial attributes compared to mechanical cam and link. The Electrotec is a dual-fuel gas/oil burner capable of efficiently burning virtually all liquid fuels, including marine sludge and chemical wastes.

The Electrotec incorporates separate drives for the rotary cup and primary air fan so that atomization is optimized for all fuel types or viscosity fluctuations. It operates on oil ring main pressures from 0.2 to 7.0 bar. Heavy fuel oils can be burned at much lower temperatures and pressures opposed to existing `comparable` pressure atomized burners.
