PRAGUE, Oct. 4, 2000 (Prague Business Journal)—Northeast Hungarian regional electricity distributor Émász Rt has increased its stake in Sinergy Kft to 50 percent, the company announced recently.

Émász also reported that it has bought half of the stake Mátra Power Plant Rt held in Sinergy and also bought half of a loan granted by Mátra to Sinergy.

Sinergy, which invests in the energy sector and operates power plants, was set up last year by three companies, Émász, Elmu Rt and Mátra Power Plant, all of which originally had equal stakes, said Sinergy Finance Director Ralf Schmidt. Budapest electricity distributor Elmu now also holds 50 percent of Sinergy, which has registered capital of Ft 250 million. (Econews, Ng 11)
