ClearEdge Power to acquire UTC Power

ClearEdge Power, a manufacturer of scalable, continuous on-site power systems, has reached an agreement to purchase UTC Power.

UTC Power, based in South Windsor, CT, US, is a proven leader in developing and producing fuel cells for reliable power generation in buildings, transit buses and automobile applications.

“We are excited about the strategic combination of ClearEdge Power and UTC Power to address the demand for clean, continuous, distributed power solutions”, said David B. Wright, ClearEdge Power president and CEO.

The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be finalized early next year.

Last month, ClearEdge Power expanded its product portfolio with the addition of two new product designs to meet the increasingly complex energy demands of commercial, institutional and residential customers.

ClearEdge Power now offers a range of solutions that leverage fuel cell technology to efficiently deliver predictable, clean and cost-effective power and heat.

The expanded product line includes:

  • ClearEdge Plus: A modular and flexible protected load system that provides continuous power to a range of commercial applications.
  • ClearEdge CP: A triple redundant baseload system designed for customers that require mission critical power for their data and telecommunication needs.
