COGEN Europe has announced that Caterpillar, manufacturer of MWM- and Cat-branded cogeneration equipment, has boosted its link with the trade body.
By becoming a ‘Pan European Member’, Caterpillar is expected to increase its access to COGEN Europe information and gain influence within the organization.
Caterpillar’s move may reflect its rising interest in Europe, said Arnaud Duvielguerbigny, head of policy at the association.
‘It probably means that Caterpillar is becoming more and more interested in the European market,’ he told COSPP.
Caterpillar is ‘a longstanding member’ of COGEN Europe, said Francois-Xavier Saury, the firm’s business development manager.
‘In a time when energy and efficiency are increasingly important, we felt it was the right moment to increase our involvement in the organization,’ he said.
Daniel Tislaric, business development manager at MWM, added that his firm sees ‘a larger role for cogeneration in the European energy portfolio’.
Representing a wide diversity of companies from large industrial users, equipment manufacturers to small-scale and micro-CHP companies, COGEN Europe describes itself as the voice of the European cogeneration sector.
