Thermo EuroVentures sro has signed an agreement with EMD Pribram sro providing Thermo EuroVentures with the option to finance and develop a 30 MW gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant in the town of Pribram, Czech Republic. The Pribram II Cogeneration Project will be an add-on to an existing 36 MW coal-fired heating plant previously developed by EMD.
Construction financing for the project is expected to close in 1997, with commercial operation slated to begin in 1999. Once completed, it is anticipated the Pribram II Cogeneration Project will sell electric power to Stredoceska Energeticka, a local power distribution company, and steam to Pribram?s district heating company.
