The floating power plants Josefa Rufina I and Margarita I, which are located in the Venezuelan state of Vargas, will begin operating in the last quarter of this year.

According to the Ministry of Electric Energy, the two plants are set to start operations from October. However, the authorities had previously indicated both plants were going to be interconnected with the National Electric System stating this July.

“Each plant will provide 171 MW of electricity to the capital Caracas with a total of 342 MW. The National Electric Commission and the Ministry will invest $550m in the plants,” said a press release from the ministry.
