A joint Spanish bid has won a contract to construct a 35 MW cogeneration plant in the northeastern state of Tampaulipas in Mexico.

Pemex Refinacion awarded the contract to OHL and Sener and they will provide the equipment at the plant, which will have a station for handling natural gas and a cooling system for treated water, as well as a transmission line connecting it to the plant.
Pemex Refinacion is a unit of state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex.
