Doosan Skoda Power has won its first contract in Oman with a plant extension deal.
The Czech company is to supply two steam turbines of 90 MW each to Salalah power plant.
The existing power station has an installed capacity of 273 MW and it will be expanded to include a new combined cycle power plant, increasing its total output to around 450 MW.
An IPP consortium investing in the project includes Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, Japanese multi-national Mitsui and Omani company Dhofar Generating.
The Lisbjerg plant will provide heat and almost 40 MW of electricity to 65,000 homes.
Doosan Skoda will install and commission the turbine and accessories.
