Gazprom’s US energy trading arm has signed to supply natural gas to Associated Electric Co-operative’s St Francis power plant in Missouri until 2034, the Russian firm has said.

The Russian gas producer will be the sole supplier to the plant, which consumes up to 86 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, until August 2034, said Gazprom.

Gazprom is expanding fast in the US natural gas market and aims for 10 per cent share of market by 2020, totalling about 6 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas traded each day.
