Private investment group Grenor has announced it will invest $186m in the construction of a gas power plant in CamerCameroon flagoon.

The gas-fired power plant will have a capacity of up to 300 MW, and will be a welcome development for the African nation, which currently has only enough power to meet half its needs and a system plagued with frequent cuts.

The plant is due to be constructed in the coastal region of Littoral and is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs during its construction phase.
