A new cogeneration plant has been opened on an industrial estate in Thailand, its developer announced this week.

B.Grimm Power, an independent power producer, yesterday officially opened its BPWHA1 plant at the Hemaraj estate in Chon Buri province.

The 130 MW gas-fired plant can produce 30 tonnes of steam per hour. It serves over 100 manufacturers in the steel, electronics, energy and auto parts sectors as well as other multinational companies on the industrial estate.

The project was a joint venture with WHA Energy Co Ltd.

B.Grimm Power has tentatively scheduled an IPO for late this year and says it aims to cement its position as Thailand’s largest small power producer, with a focus on cogeneration and renewables
