Alfa Laval Aalborg, a subsidiary of Sweden’s Alfa Laval, has won an order to supply waste heat recovery systems to two diesel power plants in Lebanon.

The order has a value of approximately $12m, with delivery scheduled this year.

The waste heat recovery systems will reuse the heat from the diesel engines to produce steam, which will be used in combined-cycle mode to boost the electricity output from the power plants.

The two power plants, which have outputs of 194 MW and 78 MW, are being built by Denmark’s Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor, in Zouk and Jiyeh near Beirut.

The plants will be based on ten and four MAN Diesel 18V48/60 medium speed HFO engines.
