Hokkaido Electric is to start a 500 MW gas fired power plant in Japan in 2019.
The plant will take gas from the new Ishikari LNG terminal, and Platts report that Hokkaido Gas will receive its first commissioning cargo at the Ishikari LNG terminal in northern Japan next month from Sakhalin in Russia.
Tokyo Gas will supply LNG from Russia’s Sakhalin 2 project as well as Australia’s North West Shelf and Darwin projects. This will mark Tokyo Gas’ first LNG resale from its existing long-term import contracts.
