The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned power utility, Saudi Electricity Co (SECO), is together with GE to build a 550 MW natural gas-fired power plant integrated with an additional 50 MW solar facility.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Dibaa project, an integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) plant, will primarily burn natural gas, but will generate 50 MW of solar energy to increase fuel efficiency at the planned facility in Dibaa on the Red Sea coast.

SECO and GE have signed a contract to supply generating units for the project, scheduled for completion by the end of 2017.
