Brazil‘s A-3 power tender has been scheduled to take place on 25 October this year, according to a notice in the country’s official gazette by the Energy and Mining Ministry.

Power-plant developers will bid for contracts to sell energy from projects due to go into operation in three years, with developers of wind farms, solar projects, natural gas-fired power plants and biomass facilities to bid for 20-year contracts in the so-called A-3 auction.

Companies proposing hydroelectric dams will bid for 30-year contracts.

The power plants must produce electricity by Jan. 1, 2016, according to the online notice and participants have until August 13th to register for the government-organized event.
