Weir Group has appointed Geetha Dabir to the new position of chief technology officer.

Dabir has previously been named as one of the 25 most powerful women in engineering and technology by news organisation Business Insider.

An electrical and software engineer, she has previously been vice-president of technology giants Intel and Cisco.

She will join Weir next month and the company said her “wealth of electrical and digital experience will support Weir’s technology strategy”.
