Cummins Generator Technologies has announced the opening of a new production plant dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of the Stamford P80 alternator range and including advanced test facilities.

The plant is to be located in Stamford near Peterborough, UK. It will feature a purpose built flow line, engineered material flow and fully integrated painting and test facilities (pictured), Cummins said.

The P80 range of 4-pole, single and two bearing Automatic Voltage Regulator controlled alternators spans 2000 – 5000kVA in low, medium and high voltages (up to 690 V, 4160 V and 13,800 V, respectively).

The firm said its Barnack Road facility in Stamford dates back to the early years of the company in 1904.
