Power rental group Aggreko plc has been commissioned to supply Guam Power Authority with a 40 MW power package for the next 12 months.
The move follows an explosion and fire at the Cabras Power Plant in Piti, resulting in the shutdown of two of four power generating plants on site.
In response, Guam Power Authority put out to tender a contract to supply a 40 MW power package, which will now be met with Aggreko’s 1 MW generator units.
Aggreko will be supplying a full fast-track turn-key power package comprising engineering services, transport, fuel tanks, installation, commissioning, EPA certified engines and on-site operators, and decommissioning.
Commenting on the contract, Venkie Shantaram, Regional Director, Aggreko North Asia said: ‘We are delighted to be selected by the Guam Power Authority to help address this important power generation requirement.’
