Skanska receives order for $46.7m CHP plant

Swedish construction firm Skanska has received a $46.7m order from Lunds Energikoncernen for the construction of a bio fuel combined heat and power plant in Lund, Sweden.

Energy Business Review reports that Skanska will be responsible for the ground work as well as construction of the plant.

The power plant will utilize bio fuels such as wood chip and straw and delivery of fuel will be done through a connecting railway.

Construction is likely to commence this month and is expected to be completed in two years, after which, about 50000 households will receive heating from the plant.
