Siemens wins CHP project at major Chinese industrial zone

Siemens Energy has won the first Decentralised Energy demonstration project in China’s Guangdong Province and will provide two SGT-400 gas turbine units for Guangzhou Aotou Decentralized Energy Station.

China‘s 12thFive-Year Plan stipulates a strong focus on developing decentralised energy, particularly through gas power.

The customer is Guangzhou Electric Development Group (GDG). The Decentralized Energy Station will not only provide power supply for Aotou Industrial Zone, but also supply industrial steam and cooling to enterprises in the industrial zone.

Siemensà‚ (NYSE:à‚ SI) will deploy the turbines to provide combined cooling, heating and power at the facility.

By 2015, around 1000 decentralized energy system projects and around ten natural gas decentralized energy demonstration zones are planned to be built in China.
