The CHP plant, to be built in Kerava, a city of 30,000 inhabitants 30 km north of Helsinki, will be fired with biomass fuels and will combine electricity and thermal production, meeting about 75% of the district heating requirement of Kerava. The plant is scheduled for completion in the autumn of 2009.

GE Energy is to supply two containerized cogeneration power plants, including Jenbacher biogas engines, that will operate at an existing bioethanol facility in the city of Liszkowo, 250 km north west of Poland’s capital of Warsaw.
