Renewable Energy in Sweden AB has signed a Letter of Intent and is concluding contract negotiations with the Swiss company World Wind Industries for several large scale wind power projects. These include one offshore project and four onshore projects estimated to be completed during 2002 and 2003.

The offshore project comprises Skabbrevet, off Landskrona. It is costing approximately 1000m SEK ($94m) with a production capacity of around 300m kWh/year, equivalent to 20 wind turbine generators.

Renewable Energy will be responsible for the total contract regarding the construction of the wind parks. This includes land agreements, planning, authorizations, connections, ground work, construction, commissioning and conveyance of the entire project.

The onshore project comprises four wind parks located in Scania. Investment amounts to 267m SEK and the capacity is around 70m kWh/year or the equivalent of 21 wind turbine generators. All plants are to be turnkey.

In a statement, Renewable Energy said that jobs would be created in Sweden as a result of the agreement.
