San Salvador-based sugar cane producer Ingenio El Angel has completed the fourth phase of a cogeneration project.
One of the largest producers in El Salvador, the project follows an investment amounting to some $70 million.
Supported by amendments to the Law on Tax for the Promotion of Renewable Energies in Electricity Generation Incentive, the investment includes the purchase of a new steam generator with a capacity of 0.536 MW per ton of bagasse, an increase of 50%.
The project will generate 70 MW from three turbogenerators.
