Deutsche Bank has fitted a122.4 kW photovoltaic system on the roof of its Americas’ headquarters in New York.

The panels on the 50 storey, 745 ft tall skyscraper in Wall Street is not just the largest solar array in Manhattan but, claims Deutsche Bank, the highest elevated flat panel system in the world.

The bank already has a 1.2 MW PV system at its Piscataway, New Jersey, while a 1.5 MW array is underway at its base in Parsippany, also in New Jersey.

Deutsche Bank Americas chief executive Seth Waugh said: “This project is one part of a comprehensive global programme to reduce the bank’s consumption of fossil fuels and shift to more renewable sources of energy.”
