California State University installs PV system

US cleantech company REC Solar and builders Aecom have completed installation of a 1.16 MW photovoltaic (PV) system for the California State University’s Fullerton (CSUF) Campus.

The array will provide electricity to six Coulomb electric vehicle (EV) charging systems provided by Charge Harbour, allowing EV drivers to replenish their car’s batteries using the power of the sun, reports newnet.com.

Burke Kascha-Hare, director of Federal Business Development for REC Solar, added, ‘State facilities are in a unique and challenging position because they face state and federal mandates for renewable energy. We are pleased to be instrumental in helping CSU Fullerton meet its aggressive renewable energy goals.’
