On-site renewables to help regenerate London housing estate

Housing association Peabody has submitted plans for the regeneration of the St John’s Hill Estate, opposite Clapham Junction station in south London, England in an initiative that looks to utilise the best of on-site renewable energy.

Planning Resource Online reports that Peabody said plans for the site include 527 new homes and a new community ‘hub’ that will include a café, club room and cràƒ¨che; 424 sq m of commercial space; and 13,600 sq m of open space.

Environmental measures would include solar photovoltaic panels and an on-site district heating system and combined heat and power unit.
