Architectural solar photovoltaic module manufacturer Onyx Solar has announced a number of on-site solar projects in Italy.
A retrofit of the Terina Mediterranean Foundation’s Buildings, in Calabria, will use more than 3000 square metres of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) glass (pictured) using Onyx amorphous silicon thin-film technology.
Yellow and green coloured photovoltaic modules, typical of this Italian region, will be integrated as part of the skylights, parking lots, walkways, floors and even an elevator with panoramic views.
Meanwhile, Onyx will also carry out the integration of 300 semi-transparent laminated, safety glass PV units, creating a highly efficient photovoltaic railing at a hotel in Naples in collaboration with Enel Green Power.
This brand new photovoltaic solution was tailor made for the customer, Onyx says.
