Mexican regulator approves on-site power projects

CRE, the Mexican energy regulator, has given the all clear to wind developer Eolica Los Altos to generate power under the self-supply modality.

The 50 MW Los Altos wind farm comprises of 28, V100-1.8MW Vestas turbines.

Meanwhile the regulator has also granted a power generation permit to paper manufacturer Bio Pappel Printing under the cogeneration modality.

The 40MW cogen plant was built at Bio Pappel’s facilities in Veracruz State.

Power and steam generated by the plant will be consumed by the company with any excess energy sent to the national SEN grid.
