Fuel cell for South Korean micro-CHP

A micro-combined heat and power (CHP) system to be built in South Korea is to include a fuel cell stack from PowerCell Sweden.

The Nordic firm said it had received an order for a prototype of its second-generation fuel cell platform, the PowerCell 2 (pictured), in the 5 kW-25 kW range.

The company said its customer is a global player who will initially use the prototype in South Korea’s residential sector.

‘The South Korean market is strategically important for PowerCell and we are naturally delighted that we received an order from this important global customer,’ said Per Wassén, PowerCell Sweden’s CEO.
