An integrated hydrogen production and storage on-site power system from McPhy Energy is being used as part of a demonstration project developed by Petawatt Energy – Electrygen Pty Ltd in Queensland, Australia.
The company will combine McPhy Energy’s system with a fuel cell that it has developed. It will enable Petawatt Energy to complete work on its first sun, water and wind land-based hydrogen energy production system. This first test system will be fitted with a small-capacity solid hydrogen storage solution, making it possible to store 130 kWh.
Colin Salmond, Petawatt Energy’s director, signed a purchase agreement with a regional client for various services, including the production of electricity, hot water, hydrogen energy and renewable energy certificates for 15 caravan sites in Queensland. The first will be built in Claremont, the centre of the state’s coal industry.
