After surpassing its initial fundraising target, community energy organization Sharenergy’s Small Wind Co-op is set to begin construction at its Kellybank site in Inverclyde, Scotland. The site is planned to include two 100 kW Norvento nED100 turbines.
Norvento said the scheme is planned to have minimal visual and noise impact on the local area, and that the turbines’ low-noise mode means they are well suited for operation near homes and businesses.
The co-operative raised over £1 million ($1.3 million), surpassing its initial target of £700,000, to fund the two projects. A second urbine is planned to be installed in Carmarthenshire in Wales.
