Aggreko maintained Super Bowl power despite outage

Glasgow-based temporary power provider, Aggreko, reported no problems with its equipment at the recently interrupted Super Bowl.

The prestigious event was delayed for over 30 minutes following a power outage at the Superdome in New Orleans, US.

Aggreko (LSE:à‚ AGK) said its equipment operated “flawlessly” during the power failure which disrupted the event.

The company kept its power running throughout, despite the outage affecting the stadium’s lights.

It was the 23rd time the company had provided power for the top annual US sporting event, generating 15MW of electricity at the stadium.

Another power firm has since come forward to admit fault for a cable failure, which led to half the stadium’s lights going out.

Super BowlAsterios Satrazemis, Aggreko president for the Americas, said: “It is always an honour to be part of such a major global sporting event and we are proud that the service we provided this year remained robust throughout the event.”
